WHEREAS, pursuant to the Constitution of the State of Article V, Section 11, and Rule 1. A. 1 of the Rules of Procedure of the Eleventh Legislature of the State of Yap, the Second Regular Session of the Eleventh Legislature of the State of Yap convened on January 8, 2024, for a period of forty meeting days; and
WHEREAS, the fortieth meeting day is scheduled for November 6, 2024, mandating the adjournment sine die of the Second Regular Session; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature has, under consideration, many important and urgent matters that need action during this session; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Rule 1.A.3. of the Rules of Procedures, the Legislature may extend any session for a total of not more than fifteen days at the vote of two-thirds of the members of the Legislature; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Eleventh Legislature of the State of Yap, Second Regular Session 2024, that this session be, and is hereby extended for a period not to exceed fifteen days; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the Speaker of the Eleventh Legislature of the State of Yap, Governor of the State of Yap, the Chief Justice of the State Court, the Chairman of the Council of Pilung, and the Chairman of the Council of Tamol.
